Dirty Harry

This past week, our lab has been having a wee bit of a fly problem. They appeared out of nowhere, and they don't really look like your ordinary flies. We've called them "flies on steroids", "bombers" and "cantaloupes with wings".

On Sunday, one of the surgeons was here on call, and he just could not stand them anymore. He said the flies were all against the window, so he sprayed them with 70% ethanol, which made them a little crunk and very easy to finish off. He said he felt like Clint Eastwood. The funny thing was, he didn't clean up. He just left them all there for us to see on Monday. His reason was, "Dirty Harry never cleaned up afterwards."

They also started a tally on the board of how many flies each person has killed. You can guess who "Dirty Harry" might be. And that's right, I am not on there. I already have enough blood on my hands.

San Francisco Discoveries

Two things I randomly discovered this summer:

1) Riding the ferry on a sunny day is soooo nice.

2) Dolores Park has an awesome view of the city.

Hello Blogging World

...I have returned! I wanted a place to post up pictures without having to create an album - whether random pics from the past or the present - and decided this blog will be it.

I love pictures. There is something about them that makes me happy. Maybe it's the color, the emotions evoked, the memory captured, the people, or the simple beauty...that makes them fun to take and look at. My first photo adventure in SF was at Baker Beach right after the interview I had for my current job.

(This guy reminds me of Pastor Cordon.)

Baker Beach is gorgeous (especially when it's sunny!) and where lots of people go to take engagement/wedding photos. Just don't walk towards the Golden Gate Bridge if you don't want to find yourself in the middle of a nude beach. Once you get past that span of awkwardness though, the view of the bridge is truly amazing.
